Bloop Festival
Bloop festival is an open air gallery who’s goal is to turn the city into an urban outdoor gallery. One of the artists they are featuring in their upcoming event is a street artist from Spain named Deih. I was tasked to create a hand out for the festival to get people excited to experience the large mural he will create in the city. The hand out needed to showcase his work and reflect his style.

Inspiration
I was inspired by the comic book Watchmen and wanted to pay homage to it. It was a living example that reflected the intrepid nature that you feel in Deihs work.

The Insider
The book was created to showcase Deihs work at the festival. His insider series of work is based on his personal introspection and feelings about life. I used different aspects to make it look and feel like you are holding a piece of his world in your hands.
Paper
The book is printed on newsprint paper. The color and texture of this paper gives it that extra street vibe.
Texture
I used spray paint to add texture and create the gritty quality of graffiti you see on the street within the book itself. The Comic book style emulates Deihs work and highlights details of his large murals that you can hold in your hands.
Typography
The typography supports this cyberpunk comic book world combining futuristic and handwritten font styles. Futura brings impactful and clean cyberpunk style. Tekton the handwritten comic book grittiness.
The Journey
The book takes you through his work in all the different countries that he has left his mark. You can’t help but want to go on a journey in search of all his pieces scattered throughout Europe.
